Membership Incentive Awards 2022-2023
NCRA Membership Incentive Awards are available to councils in good standing as of December 31st, 2022. To be in “good standing,” a council must have a minimum of 20 members, three officers and must hold at least three local meetings.
Goal 1: To award membership recognition to local councils with Membership Club Levels.
These local councils will be recognized on the NCRA Website, with a digital badge, and with a certificate.
Councils with 200+ members = Diamond/Platinum Club Level
Councils with 150-199 members = Gold Club Level
Councils with 100-149 members = Silver Club Level
Councils with 50-99 members = Bronze Club Level
Goal 2: To provide in-kind awards (a free registration to the 2022 NCRA Annual Conference) for councils with the most significant membership increases
The council with the highest percentage of membership growth from last year will receive special recognition and one free registration to the 2022 NCRA Annual Conference to be raffled off to one of their members.
The council with the greatest number of new NCRA members will receive special recognition and one free registration to the 2022 NCRA Annual Conference to be raffled off to one of their members.
A council in “good standing” must complete the following steps by December 31, 2022 in order to qualify for council awards.
Verify new and renewing members ONLINE monthly through December 31 (August 31, September 30, October 31, November 30, and December 31)
Promptly mail in any dues paid by check to NCRA treasurer using the instruction provided on NCRA Membership Information 2022-2023.
Membership information will be automatically reported in each council's membership roster (Google Sheet) throughout the fiscal year ONLY to local council officers as reported at the NCRA Leadership Conference in June 2022.
Guidelines for Developing a Council
NCRA’s primary goal is to promote literacy among educators and within the community. If you are interested in forming a local Literacy Committee or “Chapter” of NCRA, please consider the following:
Consist of 5 or more individuals. (Do not have to be teachers, educators or school/university based)
Create a Mission that will support the NCRA Mission
Be members of NCRA and/or local/NCRA
Hold a minimum of 3 yearly meetings (programs, presentations, community-based literacy activity, etc)
Participate in Young Authors (if applicable)
Attend the Leadership Institute sponsored by NCRA in June
Designate a contact person but is not required to establish a formal slate of officers.
