For any organization to thrive, new membership is critical. By growing our numbers, the North Carolina Reading Association is able to engage more of our fellow educators and do a better job promoting literacy throughout the state. While most of our members are educators from public or private schools, we count university faculty and students as members also. Even parents, business partners and others interested in literacy can join our professional association.
Membership in a local council includes membership in the state organization. Many councils have incentives for new teacher membership, and our organization provides many valuable benefits for those just beginning their careers. In areas where no local council is organized, please consider joining the state organization. Navigate to the Membership tab to view a list of these benefits.
Check the Events Calendar to view the informative programs and exciting special events local councils have scheduled for the school year. From the mountains to the coast, NCRA actively promotes lifelong literacy for all citizens. Members across the state are participating with students in the Young Authors’ writing project, networking with other professionals at our annual conference, and working together on innovative council projects.
Please join us in promoting this year’s theme – Literacy Awakens Minds, Hearts, and Dreams by navigating to the Membership tab and completing a printable or online form. The state membership fee is $25.
